According to tformers.com who is covering the Hasbro New Product Unveiling at BotCon 2006, here are the news related to the TF movie in 2007, including related merchandise:
- The movie will be released in the 4th of July, 2007 (7-4-7 for easy remembrance)
- The main toyline will be out on the 2nd of June, when EVERYTHING will be released.
- There will be two new movie preview figures to be released on the 2nd of May, nothing yet on who those two will be.
- The movie line will be a full line. It will be broad and will have multiple scales.
During the unveiling, a clip from the movie has been shown to them lucky fans. A short summary includes, but is not limited to, a yellow corvette, pics of OP as a truck, army scenes, lots of explosions, a jet flying by, a hummer, a blown-up bus, and more explosions. Also, there were no scenes of anything in robot mode.
Also, when a question was raised whether who had the most input on the character designs of the TFs from the movie, and they said that it was a great and fun partnership with Hasbro and Bay, one that is on trying to make cool characters that looked good on screen, but have a certain heritage. There were other stuff that were tackled, mostly on the IDWs, toy releases, and well, Optimash Prime, so read them all here.
On a side note, I’m ecstatic that they chose Red Alert to be the official mascot (?) for this year’s con. Power to the field medics!

So far, we have sightings of a jet fighter canopy, chunks of a yellow transformer (believed to be Bumblebee), rumored chunks of megatron, prime running along what is thought to be desert sand, and many more. See for yourself at http://flickr.com/groups/transformersmovie/pool
