Hey everyone,

Sorry I should have posted this announcement sooner. But it has been pretty toxic here in the office.

As you can see, we’ve made some changes to the forums:

Aside from the Transformers Forums, we’ve expanded the other toy lines into Japanese toys and American toys. Under the Japanese toys we have:
1) Toku Heroes Philippines - where we post everything that is Toku or Japanese sci fi live action
2) Super Robots and Other Mecha
3) Zoids
4) Anime Toys and Other Japanese Toys

Under the American toys category we have:
1) Marvel
2) GI Joe
3) DC
4) Other American toys

We’ve also included checklists for each category, as well as a general toy forum for any discussion that can include either japanese or american toys.

Why have we done this? Well, we’ve noticed that the old setup was limiting the discussions where the toyslines have been evolving (e.g. Revoltech isn’t now limited to robots, Figurearts isn’t limited to Toku, etc). CybPh membership is also growing. We are no longer just a Transformers group. We now have more members who are into Marvel, GI Joe, DC, Anime Toys, etc. We believe this adjustment would be beneficial for the old members and the new (and upcoming) members.

Finally, this setup is also in anticipation of the activities lined up for CybPh starting next year. There is the GI Joe Movie, Wolverine Live Action Movie, and of course, Transformers Movie: Revenge of the Fallen, among others. We’re gearing up for all these events, so its best to be prepared.

Thank you all again for your all out support and rest assured CybPh will be here to provide you firsthand information on toys, movies, and other news, as well as organize group buys, promos, and events for the benefit of its members.

Join us and talk about this exciting TFA Toy Launch over at our message boards.

Stay Tuned!

Hi fellow CybPh’ers.

Cybertron Philippines turns 5 today. The spark within us still glows strong! A lot new members, a lot new friends, and a lot of events happened. Year 4 was marked with the historic launch of The Transformers movie which placed the franchise back to glory. The movie toys were sold out everywhere and it became an instant global phenomenon…

This year wont be any different. The momentum created by the fantastic live-action movie will continue to recruit new spark back to Cybertron. Transformers Animated, a 26 episode series has been shown in the US and now we are waiting for the toy release. Transformers Encore is churning out exemplary characters from the G1 days. Transformers Henkei, the Japanese counterpart of TF Classics 1.0, has also started to be released in Japan. TF Classics 2.0 is just around the corner and the recent announcement of resurrecting the Binaltech line clearly shows that TakTomy/Hasbro is supporting the Transformers franchise…

A lot of non-tf related events will also be done by CybPH this year. For starters, the upcoming Iron Man toy launch would mark our continued partnership with Solar-UIP, the motion picture distributor in the Philippines. We are also waiting for the release of HML4 figures. These two we can already inform you. However, there are still other events planned within the year which are still on the drawing board…

To one and all, let your friends know that Cybertron Philippines is here to stay and will continue to bring you high caliber events. We will only get bigger and better.

Happy 5th Birthday, Cybertron Philippines!
and Thank You to each and everyone who has made and is part of Cybertron Philippines!

Visit us on our message boards and our Multiply Site.

Come 1PM of day 1, everyone gathered around the stage area for some fun and games provided by the guys from Cybertron Philippines. Prizes courtesy of our sponsors Solar-UIP, Shangri La Mall, Growee, KidzStation and Powerbooks livened up the event for everyone. Transformers posters, transforming pens, toys, gift certificates, growee and powerbooks giftpacks were enough to populate the fountain area with rabid Transformers fans.

Transforming contests, stop-dance competitions, trivia games, transformers matching games and growee theme song rendition contests ran for four hours during the event, along with the occasional Bring Me that kept everyone on their toes.

Part 2 of our Transformers Cybercon Coverage commences as we pick up from where our Robot-clad friends from Cosplay PH as well as CybPH’s very own award winning cosplayers Brawn and Bumblebee left off. Now we go the display area where 20 large cabinets filled with toys and other collectibles are housed for everyone’s viewing pleasure. What a sight to see.

A more expounded Timelines display has been concocted by the members of Cybertron Philippines to fill up 14 cabinets to their full. From the Diaclones to an elaborate Generation 1, a jungle diorama for Beast Wars and Beast Machines, RID, The Unicron Trilogy, and of course the Movie based toys, every fan of every series was more than contented with what they saw. Binaltechs, Alternators, Masterpieces, Classics and other collectibles provided the tail-end of the cabinets with much flare, while busts, statues, convention exclusives including a prop replica of the Matrix of Leadership added more class. Definitely the biggest display that CybPh has done. But that’s just 14 cabinets…

As with any Filipino Transformers fan, the thought of having our very own TF convention was just a dream, until Cybertron Philippines decided to take on that challenge. I guess the dream has come to a reality, and we are proud to have hosted the Transformers Cybercon 2007 at the Shangri La Mall fountain area last June 23-24, 2007.

YOU
[CYBPH] Tell us a little about yourself.

[Josh] Heh. Can of worms kinda question here eh? Lets see….me? Well…I’m 21 years old. I live way out here in Central Oregon [beautiful place. Come here if you like snowboarding and the great outdoors :P] Believe it or not I do have a life outside of coloring [although a lot of times it doesn’t feel like it, hehe]. I love my Jesus. Play the drums in my church [not half badly too, if I may say so xD]. I love life and I just try to make the best of it. I love art. I love music. I love creating. Its all good. Hehe. [man, this has turned into quite the “matchmaker.com” kinda question eh? Lol. Moving on >___>]

[CYBPH] How did you get into Transformers?

[Josh] You can blame that on my Mom. She bought me my first Transformer when I was like 2 years old. She got me Targetmaster Kup for Easters [whom I still have and keep on display with my 200 other Transformers xD]. I dunno. I liked ‘em. She kept buying ‘em. Its all been downhill ever since. I went through a spurt where I kinda forgot about Transformers. [Power Rangers was the hawtness around that time.] and I didn’t get back into it until Beast Wars. I got a couple of the toys [Terrorsaur and Snapper] and I didn’t believe they were real transformers! Haha! I thought they were some knock-off another company was making, trying to cash in on the old TF idea. I stumbled over the show one morning [one with obvious G1 reference] and I got to thinking “ya know…maybe this IS real after all!” and I got re-hooked. Been an avid fan ever since!

Cybertron Philippines was able to get in touch with fan-favorite [and somewhat underrated] artist Guido Guidi for a quick QnA. Guidi is a longtime Transformers fan, and an even longer-time artist, having drawn since the age of 4. Currently working on IDW’s TF Spotlight: Galvatron and on covers for various other TF projects, as well as the co-author of YOU CAN DRAW TRANSFORMERS, Guido remains as pleasant and humble as ever.

YOU

[CYBPH] Tell us a little about yourself.

[GG] I’m born and raised in Italy, but actually I’m half from Switzerland… always loved to draw since I was 4… my first drawings were the dinosaurs seen in the science books!

[CYBPH] How did you get into Transformers?

[GG] I was already got hooked with Diaclone and Microman in 1984, then next year the Hasbro’s Transformers were the natural evolution of things, and my interest increased even more (I was 12 years old)
I remember the Dinobots being my favourites. the thing I really loved was the fact the Transformers were sentient robots, a concept I always loved.
This is when I started drawing TF !
