Otakuzine Magazine is one of the newest anime magazines. Otakuzine held its Ozine Fest 2005 last December 18 at the Robinsons Galleria Trade Hall.
This was held in partnership with Hero TV, Cybertron Philippines, and Filcosplay. Cybertron Philippines council members Protoform-S, Rohml, BlackBison, Fero McPigletron, and DC723 came up with several themes for the occasion.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Beast Wars, Protoform-S, DC723, and Fero displayed the Beast Wars season 1 characters as well as the Japanese exclusive Volcano Base.
The second cabinet showcased DC723’s Transformers Energon Collection, emphasizing the main Autobots during the first episodes of the series. Protoform-S added the Japanese exclusive Cyborg Beasts to complete this display.
BlackBison and Rohml teamed up for to create a diorama of video game based action figures. These consisted of X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Superheroes and Street Fighter.
Other groups also displayed their collectibles, like Sentai Manila and their henshin devices and Toku Books…
And Mecha Pinoy’s Gundam display.
Activities included a karaoke singing and band contest kept the crowd busy…
As well as an Anime drawing contest and a Yugi-Oh card tourney. If that wasn’t enough, some of the most popular local bands like Orange and Lemons kept the crowd screaming their hearts out.
Of course, as with any Anime convention, you can never leave the cosplay competition behind…
This will probably be our last participation in an event this year. Expect more events next year from the Philippines’ very own Transformers Community
