I will review Megatron in three categories:
- Sculpt (Form and Color)
- Articulation(Movable Parts and how can it be moved)
- Fun Factor (How did I enjoy it)
[Sculpt]
Alternate Mode:
Robot Mode:
While in robot mode, more of the blue color appears. The color is shown in the shoulders, forearms, legs and shins. Light pink pieces of plastic are found on its back, its translucent and it seems to be either some form of energy weapon or something else, we’re not really sure what it is, but let’s just watch the movie when it’s shown to know what it is.
[Articulation]
Megatron is highly poseable and quite enjoyable to play with, he is a bit top heavy and forces you to check first if Megs could stand on a certain pose before you can leave him standing.
Kick Test:
[Fun Factor]
Megatron does not have weapons. He is quite confident that he can take on anything without the use of an obvious weapon. However, he does have a deployable extending hook. His right hand extends and is connected using a tendril like material. The mechanism that launches the hook from it’s arm is a simple spring loaded “catapult” and to retract it you will need to open the hatch in the arm and re-connect the hand back to the wrist and hide the extra lenght of tendril back inside the hatch.
The leader class Megatron has what is called “Automorph Technology”, it means using a button you can easily complete Megatron’s transformation.
[Overall]
The biggest hindrance we found on this toy is the concept that Megatron looks so alien compared to other megatrons and transforming him from Robot to Spacecraft is quite confusing since, unless you’ve seen it before, you cannot easily identify how it will look like in craft mode.
This is Megatron. Even though he looks nothing like his classic self, his intensity for his brand of order oozes from his form. His cruelty and power can be seen on his face… and this is just his toy.
RATING: A+
